Snow Galore

We’ve had quite a bit of snow over the last couple of weeks, to a point that takes me back to my childhood when I remember (whether accurately or not) far more beautiful snowy days.

The first batch was round my birthday, just before Christmas. I got some very nice wintery shots in The Park – I loved the curve of the trees with the snow lying on them, and the almost Lowryesque scenes with the trees.

What was perhaps most magical was going for a drink on the day before Christmas Eve and coming out to another snowy night, which lasted just into a white Christmas. We played in the snow in the street and I took these with the Lensbaby.

Then we’ve had some more in the last few days. Playing with both the glass and plastic optics on the Lensbaby has produced some lovely magical abstracts.

I also played with the Fish Eye Adapter to make some snow-globe type images in St George’s Field.

And just had to get this brilliant shot of the Mausoleum looking imposing in the winter snow.

Lovely as this is, hopefully it will warm up soon though!
