A Bit More Burlesque

Burlesque, as we know is big stuff at the moment, and for my friend Michelle’s wedding we were treated to some more.

Darn Shame.

This was at the Alea Casino down on Leeds Dock, which hires out a function space. It’s quite nice, but in my mind, like all these things over-rated and thinks a lot of itself. Avoiding overpriced lager I bought a shot of Macallan during the nice to a slight sneer from the bar-tender “it is one of our more expensive ones”. I would always prefer not to pay £7 for a shot of whisky, but it did not and does not baulk me, which makes me think he was making some comment on the clientele of the night in general. I restrained from pointing out I doubt he earned more than than an hour, whereas I certainly do. Maybe I just have it in about stuck up venues.

Anyway, I digress.

It was a good night, though photographically I was fighting monochromatic lights
