Kirkstall to Rodley

Kirkstall to Rodley

Reading Time: 3 minutes For all the time I have spent on canals, one stretch I have rarely walked any of is the stretch up out of Leeds staring at Kirkstall. Starting off the canal is pleasent, but unexceptional, passing first Kirkstall Lock and the non-descript fields which are

How Random

How Random

Reading Time: 3 minutes It’s been a very long time…  I think the last time I went out anywhere substantial was new year nearly 4 years ago, and it’s suffice to say I’ve been a little dormant on the photography front. This has been a combination of a few

Images from The Underground

Images from The Underground

Reading Time: < 1 minutes After a certain amount of thought, I have decided to cull the Images From The Underground Website. There’s a few reasons for this – to be fair, in the days of social media, the people who I would like to engage with this project do

Dewsbury to Mirfield

Dewsbury to Mirfield

Reading Time: 4 minutes Further to the eventual aim of walking all the Yorkshire Canals, we set of on another canal walk, this time with the Aim of Dewsbury to (at least) Mirfield. As I have said before, though there are some reasonably interesting Industrial buildings, Dewsbury is not

Freightliners

Freightliners

Reading Time: 2 minutes I am not sure where this small obsession with Freightliners came from. I blame my son, and also they are very smartly liveried. If you like them we are lucky to have the maintanance depot in Leeds out on the Hallam Line to Wakefield Westgate

In The Bunker

In The Bunker

Reading Time: 3 minutes I’ve been down to a couple of events recently to shoot for the promoters.  Bunker 13 is a night at Eiger Studios in Leeds, playing industrial, EBM, dark electro and aggrotech. I’d seen flyers for this night, and aimed to check it out as I like the

Wakefield to Dewsbury

Wakefield to Dewsbury

Reading Time: 4 minutes My aim on this walk was to join the canal at the end of Thornes Lane Wharfe, and so complete the Wakefield end of the Calder Hebble Navigation, but this appearded to have been cut off, I guess due to damage to the tow path.

Rave and Respect

Rave and Respect

Reading Time: 5 minutes What upsets me here is that what has been gained from this? An charity event has lost a set of images which I provided to them pro-bono to help them as a crew and promote the work they did. I will obviously not be shooting their events again, as it seems internal politics have led to a situation where members of the promotional team do not know what other members have agreed, and I don’t really want to be working in that situation. One less club on the list for me, one less photographer on the list for them. The DJ himself has lost the use of the image he wanted to use in the first place and the possibility of some future collaboration. Because of nothing more than a kickback about giving proper credit.

And that helps the music scene how?

Reading Time: 2 minutes There’s no great story or much inspriational to say for some posts. This is the latest club night set. Remedy at Beaver Works is always good, and Hallowe’en especially so as many people go above and beyond dressing up!
