Riding on a Legend

I still have a little train freak, and I am sometimes worse.

We’d been planning this as a suprise for a while. After initially saying that Loading Guage issues pevented them from getting the nation’s favourite locomotive to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, somehow this has been arranged.

The look on my sons face when I showed him a video of “spamcan” (37075) pulling Flying Scotsman along the track and then when he realised where it was told him he’d better jump up and get dressed as we were going is something I will treasure for the rest of my life.

I do think that Flying Scotsman is a little like the proverbial broomstick – I am unsure which parts are original. But a legend and an icon she is and we rode the full length of the Worth Valley line and back behind her.
