Some More Landscapes

These are just a couple more landscapes I have been working on in the run up to Christmas.

The first of these is another from Wales – Yr Hen Bont in Cwm Hafodyredwydd. I’m not quite happy with this. I loved the effect from the Caput Mortuum on the iron rich stream, but I have struggled at bit with the perspective, I think due to the tight trees in the background.

This, however I am very happy with. This was based on, but expanded from a tutorial in a book I found in Oxfam – Handbook of Watercolour Tips & Techniques, by Arnold Lowrey, Wendy Jelbert, Geoff Kersey  and Barry Herniman. I expanded the colour pallete a little to suit what I have, but I am very pleased with this as an image. This is also my first time working in watercolour in A3.
