Knaresborough

Following on from my recent water pictures in Kirkstall I have had a further play with the neutral density filters and slow shutters in Knaresborough. The first set of these are just off Riverside, under the castle. There’s not as much movement in the water as the previous Kirkstall set, but the silky effect has come out very well.

Of course, it’s not a trip to Knaresborough without taking a decent shot of the iconic viaduct.

We walked up along the Harrogate Ringway and Bilton lane to go into the Nidd Gorge. I took these shots low down in the grass with the lensbaby plastic optic. Really like the effect on these.

I did some more with the Lensbaby in the woods. These very abstract images are obviously very much a matter of taste. I tend to like the total abstracts like the Heart of The Woods image in the set below. But they provide quite a good base for further manipulation and design.

I finished with some more long exposure water shots from higher up the bank.
