Hammerfest

So, via a slightly roundabout series of events, I have ended up this last weekend at Hammerfest, a metal weekend at Pontins in Prestatyn, with my old boss from many years ago, and his mate.

I like metal, though I have to say I didn’t know any of the bands playing, and to be honest was not 100% sure what to expect. I’m not 100% sure I remember much either, as it ended up quite a drunken blur, and I cannot even after a few days remember any of the bands names other than one. But I do recall the music being good and of course I took my camera.

This is friday.

Saturday, I have some memories early on. This is Chthonic, who are a Taiwanese band playing black metal with plenty of traditional influences, and have the fittest bass player, perhaps ever.

The evening becomes more blurry. I spent a certain amount of time with a couple of nice girls, and got some quite good model shots with one of them, but then it went a bit off the bat. I obviously watched this band, whoever they are with pyro and dancers for a while. After that, who knows.
