Emily’s Party

So one of my good friends has had a little birthday shindig, and I have been along capturing the event, and also roped into sound engineering.

As seems to be the thing at the moment, we had a bit of Burlesque. This of course, I will never complain about, who wouldn’t.

Also a bit of music. I’m not going to put a name to the band concerned, because I am going to have a bit of a rant.

From the opener of “I might have to give them some money” for taking pictures, to assorted tossery over the setup, sometimes I think that egos should be left at the door.

It amuses me greatly, that after the Hire engineer expressly stated no need (there was indeed no need) to mic the guitar amps, that the singer collared the backing mic, shoved it inexpertly in the face of his amp, that he simply failed to notice my killing the channel.

Oh, how we laugh.
