Revlog Kolor Wierdness

Not content with this being a random effect from poor light seals (or indeed poor construction) it is now possible, courtesy of Revlog to purchase film that is pre exposed to give these (and other) effects. What a time to be alive.

I am being a little cyncical here as to be fair light leaks can be quite appealing, but there is very much a random and unplanned aspect to these – I suspect this film is an attempt to give something a little more controllable.

Revlog Kolor is an ISO 200 emulsion (undoubtably bulk something else respooled). As it has been partially exposed, it is suggested to slightly under expose your shots to preserve the colours and avoid totally bleaching out the effect. It also, unsuprisingly likes sunshine best.

It is quite pricey compared to the standard cheap films it is most likely made from, but I have to say it is quite a lot of fun. I used the Smena 8M to take these as this is a camera which give an interesting Lo-Fi effect, yet can be reasonably precisely controlled. As ever, I didn’t take any effective notes, but tried a variety of exposures and subjects.
