Luddite 200

I was invited to come and document this gig at TJ’s in Woodhouse, commemorating 200 year anniversary of the Luddite Rebellion, with Chumbawamba, Dan Audio and some other acts who have slipped my memory.

The term Luddite is one often used as an insult and I have very mixed feelings about arguments against progress, though the acts of the rebellion was against the loss of work caused by industrialisation which is something still affecting people to this day.

What amuses me, is the main organisers (not my contact) dissaproved of email, so I could not simply wire the images, and had to send them on CD. I have no idea if they even got them. I, personally, mistrust snail-mail…
