Bloody Towers, Foodies and Camden, Again
Day three of our London adventure, and up bright and early to visit the Tower of London. It is my other half who is the history freak, but I am always up for somewhere like this to explore photographic ideas. I am glad we got their early, however, as it does become very busy abd a little bit chaotic for someone like me who in my later life really has taken a dislike to crowds.
The weather was kind and I grabbed some nice, albeit broadly touristy shots.

The justaposition of old and new in London’s architecture has always held a fascination for me and further opportunities to explore this area of the south bank were welcome.

Avoiding crowds, of course, at Borough Market on a lunch time was, of course, not going to happen. I do love Borough Market, and have not been for some years, though as is always the way some of it has been taken over far more by street food, that the familiar stalls – but once we had found our bearings, much shopping ensured…

Off again to Camden. As I said before, a lot has gone on here, but it still has managed to keep its vibe in my opinion. We drank lots of beer, and ate various interesting things – 3 Locks Brewery was a favourite, to watch the canal and the trains. It was good to see the same very aging punk on the bridge (and I notice the Help a Punk Get Pissed photo opp is now £2).
Winter being winter it did get cold, and we (to cap the experience) retired to The World’s End. While I can imagine that on a decent weekend night it would (even for these aging rockers) be pretty good (and the music was of course top) I felt that even in London £19.20 for a pint of stout and a glass of chardonay (in slightly grubby glasses) was taking it a bit…

Day three done and off to bed. As you will know I am a massive London Underground fan and it does show you can cram a lot into a day with good transport. Are you listening, Leeds…
