Agfa Agfamatic 2000 Pocket Sensor

I am guessing this was another charity shop find; I am not sure where this came from and what I paid. I don’t always buy cartridge film cameras due to the hassle in acquiring and (especially with 110) developing the film, but this classic Agfa was obviously too good to pass over.

About

This is a simple 110 cartridge film camera, designed by  Schlagheck Schultes Design; like the rest of the range it is styled in black and silver and has the ubiquitous red sensor button for the shutter.  The film is advanced by closing and opening the case after shooting. It has a 3 element resin Color Agnar Lens at 26mm with a fixed aperture of f/9.6. It has a socket for Magicube Flash Bulbs.

Focus and View

The 29mm focal length to 110 film (17x13mm) gives an angle of view of 32.7°. To take a full body shot in the frame you would need to stand just over 4m from the subject.

Assuming the lens was focussed hyperfocally this would give a near focus of 3.14 metres – I would imagine the actual focus is closer.

Exposure

There are 2 shutter speeds, 1/100s (indicated as Sunny) and 1/50 (indicated as Cloudy).

The aperture sits on the half stop between f/8 and f/11, and the shutter speeds are a third stop below standard. I will cautiously suggest marginal over exposure and work on the basis of f/8 and 1/125.
