Agfamatic 200 and Truprint XG 200

I am going back a bit through some of my archives and pulling out a few old experiments to look over.

This is partly personal – I have not done as much photography for a while, and also have a pile of undeveloped film I want to address at some point. So getting my “mojo” back is a bit of an aim for 2025 and I want to also progress my artistic practice inspired by some of my more experimental photographic work.

This ia set of images taken on an Agfamatic Sensor 200. This was Agfa’s take on the Kodak Instamatic, taking 126 film. I love square format and it is a shame for me that these cartridges are now obselete. The film is expired Truprint XG 200 which was in the camera when I found it in a charity shop – who knows how long for. The colourshifts are reminiscent of the Revlog Kolor film, there’s some double exposures and all sorts – for me this is far more the spirit of “lomography” than some of where it has gone now.

Due to the age of the fom I processed this “bleach bypass” which leaves the silver image present in the film (similar to a black and white negative) – a trick I use with very old film as this means there is an image if the colour dye fails. This has added to the wierd effects.
