Abbots Bromley Horn Dance
My Father’s will left me a great collection of manuscripts of transcriptions he had made of various folk melodies, processionals, carols and other tunes. I have been slowly working to further trascribe some of these myself to midi files, and to re-imagine some of these in new (or traditional) styles.
I was very taken with this – the Abbots Bromley Horn Dance. Here’s his transcription.
Like many of these things, the Abbots Bromley Horn Dance has various stories and takes behind it, but for some reason the melody caught me in an infectious way, and I decided to work with it, especially when I realised the parts could function as a round.
I worked on this full orchestral arrangment using Spitfire BBCSO. I hope you like it as much as I do.
