Requiem Ensanglanté
I’m pretty excited to reveal to you a new project…
Over two decades ago I started writing lyrics, charting my story from leaving my Hometown of Cambridge, moving to Leeds and the relationships, adventures, fuckups and learning that I went through.
Of course, like many 19 year old boys I wanted to be a rock star.
I played in a couple of short lived projects, but never really got it all together, though I continued the scribblings. My original ideas were very heavily based in goth and prog rock – something quite epic and never really came to fruition.
After building up a fairly substantial set of equipment, and having some local impact as Suburban Acid Saturation a number of years ago, I revisited these words in late 2017 and started the process of thinking seriously about making something of them.
In a sense I owe some of this to discovering one artist – Celldweller – which gave me an idea of how to approach the material I had written from a style blending the previous influences with my love of electronics and sound design.
And so Requiem Ensanglanté was born.
This is going to be a long ride. I have material for at least 3 albums and ideas for five. That will bring me right up to now in my life. Then we will have to see…
Expect pounding electronic drums, screaming synths, chugging guitars, thundering bass, string arrangements and a massive dose of depression, angst, fuck-ups and an ever-lasting thread of hope. There’s some in progress pics for fun.
