an extremely happy, peaceful, or picturesque period or situation, typically an idealized or unsustainable one.

I have been slowly developing a theme in some of my watercolour work. Talking to some of my musical and lyrical conceptualisation of Hiraeth, these are imagined scenes, exploring the concept if the Idyll – something that perhaps in contrast to the past evocted by hiraeth, speaks of a future, but one that perhaps never be realised.

The landscapes here are not real, but could be real. While evoking the memories of warm summers in my youth, they speak of my aim to escape the city I have melded with for so long, to return full circle to a carefree existance.

They are of course still wild, and like anything imagined yet not realised, there is the fear of the unknown round the corner, but in all, a sense of peace dispite the longing.
