Scarborough

A welcome return after cancellations due to Covid19 has been the annual free trip to the seaside provided by Unison. I love Scarborough. It’s both beautiful and tacky, pompous and run down. I love the winding old streets and the ostentatious Victorian hotels and the very Englishness of the seafront which still persists. And there’s great shops. where else could I, among other things, come home with a watercolour print, a pocket knife and an antique ink-pot..?

As well as the Landscape there’s lots of detail to look at such as in the habour with the colours on the boats and crab baskets.

I dragged everyone out on the harbour wall this time, which I have not been out on for some years and got these varied shots of the view and closer in with the flags.

In case you thought I had forgotton – here’s the obligatory panorama of the seafront.
