That London
This is very exciting.
I have been asked to serve on a development user group for some software that we use at work, which is meaning some trips to London over the next year. And very kindly the company has agreed to book my return tickets later in the day so that I can have some time down in London.
OK, so this does mean getting up at 4.30 in the morning to get a 6am train, but for a 2 hour meeting I get an expenses paid trip to That London.
The sunrise from the train was at least pretty…
I didn’t really know what to do in London, I used to go a few times with my Father, as a child and did visit a couple of years ago, staying in Stoke Newington), but my collegue suggested heading for Bank station and wandering about from there. I ended up walking down to the river and across London Bridge – Actually we did end up down this way when I was last there, so I recognised it a little. Borough Market was closed, though I did see the most enormous pumpkin I have ever seen in my while life. I saw Tower Bridge and The Tower of London too.
I generally wandered about and ended up in first Leicester Square, and then Trafagar Square, which was very nice with the Christmas Lights up. It’s interesting as on the map everything in central London can look quite close as it is very dense, but London is bloody big and walking it can be quite tiring.
