Images from The Underground

Leeds Waterfront Festival

I quite often shoot around the waterfront for some of my Saturated Imagery projects, I love the mixture of old and new buildings, and documenting the inevitable creeping gentrification of this area of my City.

Over this weekend there has been a festival of the Waterfront which I went down to on Saturday.

This was a great chance to take some shots of this area hosting an actual event. It was nice to see the space used for something like this, and full of people – it is a shame that this area is quite so gentrified in a way, as it prices a lot of Leeds residents out of enjoying it.

These are some of the shots from today, and you can see the full set on Flickr.

I shot these digitally using the Canon EOS 1000D, and a simple 18-55mm lens, except for the close up of the dragon boat crew which was my Tamron 70-300mm. I also used a circular polariser to bring out the colours a little, though I have also boosted these in post processing.
